Course Description

The Guided Bone Regeneration Course is a comprehensive two-day training session designed to enhance skills and proficiency in advanced socket grafting and ridge augmentation procedures. Participants will receive hands-on training and learn best practices for guided bone regeneration, including incision design, flap management, minimally invasive bone harvesting, material selection, biomaterial handling, and space maintenance techniques. Special emphasis will be placed on techniques for stabilizing the graft/membrane complex using periosteal biting stabilization sutures and simplified methods for achieving tension-free primary closure.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

  1. Explain the principles and rationale behind Guided Bone Regeneration.
  2. Recognize the biological prerequisites necessary for successful Guided Bone Regeneration.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and treating alveolar ridge deficiencies.
  4. Differentiate between available material options for Guided Bone Regeneration.
  5. Select the most suitable material for specific Guided Bone Regeneration cases.
  6. Apply a range of techniques essential for conducting Guided Bone Regeneration procedures.
  7. Design and execute appropriate incisions for ridge augmentation.
  8. Prepare recipient sites effectively for bone augmentation procedures.
  9. Employ minimally invasive techniques for autogenous bone harvesting.
  10. Utilize various methods to stabilize the graft/membrane complex during surgery.
  11. Implement soft tissue management protocols to achieve tension-free primary closure.
  12. Effectively address and manage complications associated with Guided Bone Regeneration procedures.
